How do I open an account?
You can open an account online by completing our electronic application, or you can download the application forms, fill them out, and mail them to our offices. Online applications are the fastest way to get started. Once your application is reviewed and approved, you will receive confirmation and can begin funding your account.
How do I fund a new account?
New accounts can be funded via wire transfer or by mailing a check. Checks should be made payable to "Advantage Futures LLC" and mailed to our Chicago office. Wire transfers are the fastest method and funds are typically available for trading on the same business day they are received.
What is the minimum balance?
The minimum balance to open an account at Advantage Futures is $10,000. This amount may vary depending on the products you intend to trade and the margin requirements of those products.
How do I withdraw money from my account?
Withdrawals are processed via wire transfer through your account representative. Contact your representative to initiate a withdrawal request. Funds are typically disbursed within one to two business days.
Can I transfer my account from another firm?
Yes, you can transfer your account from another futures commission merchant to Advantage Futures. Simply complete a Transfer of Account form, and we will coordinate the transfer with your current firm. The transfer process typically takes approximately 3 business days.
What are commissions and fees?
Commissions and fees at Advantage Futures are based on your monthly trading volume and margin utilization. We offer competitive, customized pricing structures. Contact us to receive a detailed pricing proposal tailored to your trading profile.
What is the margin policy?
Advantage Futures requires exchange minimum margins for all customer accounts. Margins are the minimum amount of funds that must be deposited and maintained to hold a futures position. Margin requirements vary by product and are set by the exchanges.
Can I trade in retirement accounts?
Yes, Advantage Futures supports futures trading in retirement accounts. This requires establishing a custodial account with an approved custodian. Contact your account representative for details on setting up a retirement account for futures trading.
How do I receive my statements?
Account statements are delivered via email as PDF attachments at approximately 8:00 PM CST each trading day. Statements include a summary of your positions, transactions, margins, and account equity.
Can I check my account online?
Yes, you can monitor your account online through Internet Inquiry, which provides real-time access to your account information including positions, balances, transactions, and statements.
What if I lose internet access during trading?
If you lose internet access, you can call our 24-hour Global Execution Desk at 312.800.7800 to manage your positions, place orders, or close trades. Our execution desk is staffed around the clock to ensure you always have access to the markets.
Do you accept non-U.S. customers?
Yes, Advantage Futures accepts customers from outside the United States. Non-U.S. customers are required to complete a W-8 tax form and provide a copy of their passport as part of the account opening process.
Do you offer trading seminars?
Yes, Advantage Futures offers trading seminars and educational resources for clients. These seminars cover topics including trading platforms, risk management, and market analysis. Contact your account representative to learn about upcoming seminars.
Can I practice trading before funding my account?
Yes, demo trading accounts are available so you can practice trading and familiarize yourself with the platform before committing real capital. Contact us to request a demo account.
